WELCOMING NOTE

Dear Delegates,

The Organizing Committee of ISSA 2023 welcomes you to participate in this international meeting, which will be held from 17 to 18 October. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this long anticipated conference will take place, seven years after its last meeting. It will be held in person at Le Méridien in Putrajaya, Malaysia. The conference will include oral and poster presentations, discussion sessions, and social activities to promote networking. Please check ISSA 2023 website periodically for updates.

The 3rd ISSA aims to continue the culture of exchanging ideas and information and strengthening international cooperation between researchers. It will cover a wide range of topics relating to agarwood including genetics, physiology, conservation, ecology¸ induction, plantation management, policy, etc.. This meeting is a sequel to ISSA 2013 and ISSA 2016. Previous meetings attracted participants from over 15 countries. We hope to see many of you again in this year’s meeting and welcome new faces to join us.

Announcements (NEW)

♦The ISSA 2023 is just around the corner, and we're excited to welcome you to Le Meridien (LM) IOI Mall, Putrajaya from 17 to 18 Oct. However, the ‘Hi-tea networking’ session, which is scheduled at the end of the first day 17 Oct (~ 5.30 pm) is at the Mercure Living Putrajaya (MLP). This is due to LM being fully booked by other events at the same time.

Please note that only the 'Hi-tea session' is at Mercure Living Putrajaya (MLP) and is strictly fo PAID participants only. All other conference sessions will still take place at LM.

To ensure a smooth transition to MH for the 'Hi-tea networking' session, we've arranged two options for you:

a) Personal Transport: If you have your own vehicle, you can drive to MH. They offer free parking, but please ensure to validate the touch 'n' go card at the hotel lobby. The card must have a minimum balance of RM3.00. The Mercure Hotel is approximately 5.8 km away from LM, and the drive takes about 10 minutes. The advantage of this option is that you have the flexibility to leave at a time that suits you.

b) Organizer-Provided Bus: We've also arranged a bus service that will take you from LM to MH and back to LM. Please note that the return trip to LM will be at 8.30 pm, after everyone is on board.

We kindly request that you confirm your attendance for the 'Hi-tea networking' session and let us know your preferred method of transfer to MH. Please send your confirmation via email to issa.upm2023@gmail.com. We would greatly appreciate it if you could confirm your attendance by Thursday, 12 Oct.

♦Parking Details

A. Le Méridien Putrajaya

Waze to Le Meridien Putrajaya Hotel.
The hotel parking entrance is located before the hotel lobby. To ensure a flat rate of RM 10 per car entry, please make sure to park in the hotel parking area. The parking system is ticketless and will automatically recognize your car's registration number. Delegates can drive through the entry and exit without the need for parking tickets, as the system will capture and recognize the car's plate number using the recognition system.
Delegates should collect a parking voucher at the registration table at the end of the day.
Prior to leaving the premises, delegates must visit the AUTOPAY machine at parking level (P1 and P2) to make the payment.
Steps to make a payment at the AUTOPAY Machine:
a)Enter the car plate number.
b)Scan the QR Code.
c)Pay the amount of RM 10.00 nett using either cash or an e-wallet.
d)Exit the premises within 10-15 minutes.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

We are now accepting abstracts. Please use the template in Words (abstract) and submit together with your registration form. You can choose to apply for an oral presentation or a poster presentation. Each author may only present one abstract. Authors will be notified of acceptance as soon as possible.
