This field encompasses sciences, technologies, processing, , and utilisation  of bio-resources such as wood and fibres from forests and non-forests, agricultural wastes (oil palm, coconut, pineapple, banana, etc.) and other non-wood biomass (kenaf, bamboo, rattan, medicinal plants).
