Department of Wood and Fibre Industries and SISFEC, Faculty of Forestry and Environment, were invited to participate in the exhibition held in conjunction with Sinergi Putra 2026, which took place from 15 to 16 June 2026 at the Dewan Besar, Universiti Putra Malaysia.

The participation aimed to introduce the department’s roles and areas of expertise, as well as to promote the fields of forestry, environmental sustainability, and sustainable materials to the university community and visitors. The exhibition booth also highlighted the concept of “EcoSynergy: Forestry, Environment and Sustainable Materials,” which emphasizes the interconnected relationship between forest resource management, environmental conservation, and the use of sustainable materials in ensuring a more sustainable future.

Throughout the programme, visitors had the opportunity to obtain information on the academic programmes offered by the faculty, research activities, innovations related to wood- and fibre-based resources, and various sustainability initiatives undertaken by the faculty. The presence of academic staff, administrative staff, and students further enlivened the exhibition through knowledge-sharing sessions and interactive engagements with visitors.

Participation in this exhibition reflects the Faculty of Forestry and Environment’s commitment to supporting the university’s sustainability agenda while strengthening collaboration among academia, students, and the community through the dissemination of knowledge and awareness on the importance of sustainable natural resource management.
