Which airport should I fly into?
You should fly into Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) (IATA airport code: KUL).
You will land either in the KLIA main terminal or Low Cost Carrier
Terminal (LCCT) or KLIA2 (scheduled to be opened on 28 June 2013).
Where is UPM?
UPM is located in Serdang in the state of Selangor. It is
approximately 50km north of KLIA. The cities of Putrajaya and Kuala
Lumpur are 15km and 24km away, respectively, from UPM.
How should I travel to UPM or hotel?
There are several options:
*The price is stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM), 1USD ≈ RM3.
The easiest way to travel directly to your desired destination
(hotel/UPM) from the airport is by hiring a taxi. Coupons can be
purchased at the taxi service counter located inside the arrival hall at
all terminals. The regular fare from the airport to Putrajaya/Serdang
UPM area is around RM60-80 (USD20-30) for a budget taxi, journey takes
around 45-60 minutes. Taxi is a reasonable option for participants who
travel together (3-4 people).
You can travel to Putrajaya area by KLIA Transit.
KLIA Transit departs every half an hour. Tickets are available at the
KLIA Transit counter at the main terminal, Level 3 (Arrival). Follow the
KLIA Transit sign-board. This is the most convenient, comfortable and fast way to reach Putrajaya.
For KLIA main terminal - KL Transit route,
it takes about 13 minutes to reach Putrajaya/Cyberjaya Station from
KLIA. The fare is RM6.20. This train goes to KL Sentral, you need to
exit at Putrajaya/Cyberjaya.
For LCCT-KL Transit route, you will
need to take a shuttle bus connecting to the Salak Tinggi Station (~25
mintues); from there you will board the KLIA Transit train to
Putrajaya/Cyberjaya Station (~7 minutes). Follow the KLIA Transit sign-board. The fare is RM5.50 includes both shuttle and train service.
Once you arrive at the Putrajaya/Cyberjaya station, you may take a taxi to UPM or your hotel, which cost from RM20.
From KLIA, you can travel to Kuala Lumpur city center by KLIA Ekspres
at frequency every 20 minutes. Tickets are available at the KLIA
Ekspres counter at the airport. KLIA Ekspres is a premium non-stop high
speed train service that connects KLIA and KL Sentral. Cruising at a top
speed of 160 km/h, the journey takes only 28 minutes and costs RM35.
Follow the KLIA Ekspres sign-board.
Another alternative to reach KL Sentral from KLIA is by bus, using
the Airport Coach service. The fare is RM10 and takes around 1 hour.
From LCCT, you can travel to Kuala Lumpur area by KLIA Transit
at frequency every 30 minutes. Tickets are available at the KLIA
Transit counter at the airport. You will need to take a shuttle bus
connecting to Salak Tinggi Station (~25 mintues); from there you will
board the KLIA Transit train to KL Sentral Station (~25 minutes). The
fare is RM12.50 includes both shuttle and train service.
Another alternative to reach KL Sentral from LCCT is by bus, using the Skybus service. The fare is RM9 and takes around 1 hour.
From KL Sentral, you can take the Komuter Train
(KTM) to reach Serdang station. The fare is RM 1.70 and takes around 25
minutes. From Serdang KTM station, you may take a taxi to the Faculty of
Forestry, UPM, which costs around RM11, for a 10-minute journey.

REMINDER
Foreign visitors who require a visa to enter Malaysia must apply and
obtain a visa in advance at the Malaysian Representative Office in your
country before entering Malaysia.
