The Faculty of Forestry and Environment is one of the founding faculties established during the formation of Universiti Pertanian Malaysia, now known as Universiti Putra Malaysia. The faculty was originally known as the Faculty of Forestry. On 1 March 2020, the Faculty of Forestry was merged with the Faculty of Environmental Studies to form the Faculty of Forestry and Environment.
As an academic entity, the Faculty of Forestry and Environment (FHAS) carries out its core functions in teaching, research, and professional services, in line with UPM objective of producing competent, ethical, forward-looking, and resilient graduates who are able to contribute to national well-being. Guided by UPM vision and mission, the Faculty of Forestry and Environment remains committed to continuous progress through a quality management system. With a focus on continuous improvement, the faculty aims to position itself as a centre of excellence in education and research in tropical forestry and environmental studies.
In developing high-quality human capital and professional infrastructure, the Faculty of Forestry and Environment consistently strives to strengthen and enhance its capabilities in teaching, research, and services to the highest possible standards.
Through this website, the Faculty of Forestry and Environment seeks to engage with stakeholders and the wider community in fostering a culture of quality work and in meeting national needs for human capital development in the forestry sector, timber-based industries, ecotourism, and environmental management.
