Geran Penyelidikan

Fakulti Perhutanan dan Alam Sekitar terlibat secara aktif dalam penyelidikan asas dan gunaan dalam semua bidang perhutanan. Penyelidikan ini dijalankan oleh pegawai akademik, pegawai penyelidik, pelajar pra-siswazah dan siswazah. Sumber kewangan untuk menjalankan penyelidikan diperolehi daripada agensi kerajaan dan swasta didalam dan luar negara.

Sumber utama pembiayaan penyelidikan adalah melalui program ScienceFund, InnoFund dan TechnoFund oleh Kementerian Sains Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI), dan Kementerian Pertanian dan Industri Asas Tani. Sumber pembiayaan penyelidikan juga diberikan oleh Kementerian Tinggi menerusi Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), Experimental Research Grant Scheme (ERGS), Priority Research Grant Scheme (PRGS), Strategic Research Grant Scheme (SRGS) dan Long-term Research Grant Scheme (LRGS), Malaysia Brain Gain
Programme serta geran penyelidikan FELDA, UPM juga menerima pembiayaan projek penyelidikan menerusi Research University Grant Scheme (RUGS) dan sumbangan kewangan dari agensi antarabangsa seperti International Development Research Centre (IDRC), JapaneseForestry Tropical Society (JFTS), International Timber Trade Organization (ITTO), Environmental Economic Program for South East Asia (EEPSEA) dan Asia Pacific Association of Forestry Research Institutions (APAFRI).
