Students of the Bachelor of Science in Timber Industry with Honours (BSIPDK), Faculty of Forestry and Environment, Universiti Putra Malaysia under the course coordinator Dr. Sabiha Salim have implemented the Sustainable Wood Treatment Program SULAM Project in collaboration with MBSA and ReKayu at the Wood Cycle Economy Center (PEKKA), Shah Alam. This program focuses on the Shou Sugi Ban technique. This program is part of the FHH3203-1 (Wood Degradation and Treatment) course, aimed at providing practical exposure to sustainable and innovative wood treatment, as well as supporting circular economy practices through the reuse of wood products. Apart from meeting learning needs, this program also serves as a medium for sharing knowledge and increasing community awareness regarding sustainable wood treatment methods in sustainable development.
